Person in Charge (PIC)

Allied Health Careers is looking for an experienced Person in Charge (PIC) for an organisation provides a comprehensive, efficient and innovative service for people with an intellectual disability, located in Co Longford. The Person in Charge will co-ordinate and lead the implementation and provision of quality care and support, ensuring HIQA standards and regulations standards are adhered to.

Full-Time Permanent: 39 hours per week

Location: Co Longford

Salary: € 52,000 to € 61,000 (depending on experience)

The Role

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of HIQA standards and the regulations underpinning the standards as they apply to the Intellectual Disability service.
  • Ensuring standards are adhered to.
  • Promoting and implementing best practices.
  • Leading the team and managing resources.
  • Coordinating, assessing, planning, delivering and reviewing resident support, while ensuring that residents, family and other staff are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Maintaining records in accordance with local service, professional standards and reporting arrangements.
  • Taking part in audit as required.
  • Engaging in performance review processes including personal development planning.
  • Promoting a culture that values diversity and respect in the workplace.
  • Ensuring that effective safety procedures are developed and managed to comply with statutory obligations, in conjunction with relevant staff e.g. Health and Safety procedures, emergency procedures etc

The Person

  • Hold a minimum of QQI level 7 qualification in Social Care Practice OR Be registered in the Intellectual Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (NMBI)
  • Possess an appropriate management qualification in health or social care management.
  • 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in health or social care.
  • Full clean driving license.
